Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute simulations to evaluate full vehicle structural crashworthiness performance for multiple impact types including high/low speed frontal, side, rear, and pedestrian protection.
  • •Generate feasible vehicle design recommendations and work cross-functionally with engineering teams.
  • •Assist with building high-fidelity CAE models from CAD data and produce analysis reports.
  • •Participate in post-test teardowns to correlate CAE results to physical tests.
  • •Support DOE/DFSS optimization studies using optimization tools, and create standard work procedures; mentor junior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of full vehicle crashworthiness CAE experience for an automotive OEM or equivalent experience.
  • •Balanced approach to CAE and testing, with strong analytical skills to draw conclusions from CAE results.
  • •Knowledge of global regulatory and consumer safety requirements including FMVSS, UNECE, USNCAP, IIHS, Euro NCAP, and China NCAP.
  • •Experience with root causing test performance and correlating CAE models to physical tests.
  • •Advanced proficiency with LS-DYNA and pre/post-processing tools such as Ansa/Meta, Oasys suite, and Hyperworks; scripting with Python.
