Job Summary

Lead test execution support on the pilot line by resolving material handling issues, driving tool-level troubleshooting, and implementing process/tool improvements to meet performance goals. Key Responsibilities

•Act as a consultant for test execution in the pilot line, addressing material handling issues and driving tool-level troubleshooting to conclusion and root cause.
•Create and maintain daily task schedules, support WIP and operational planning, and adjust run plans based on tool availability, staffing changes, and production priorities.
•Monitor daily production of photovoltaic modules, coupons, and/or E-plates against quality standards, and ensure shift uptime/process control with escalation procedures as needed.
•Supervise scheduling of daily work assignments for development engineering technicians, coordinate startups/shutdowns/changeovers, and ensure assigned tests execute according to engineering plans.
•Respond to SPC alarms, support improvement actions on yield excursions/performance issues, and ensure safety/quality standards (including 5S) are enforced for direct reports, contractors, and vendors.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 68,800 - 90,000 annually

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED plus 3 years supervisory experience with 2 years technical experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering, or high school diploma/GED plus 5 years technical experience at First Solar, or an associate/bachelor’s degree in an engineering, mechanical, or electrical field.
•Experience troubleshooting equipment and driving tool-level issues to root cause, including knowledge of vacuum and thermal systems, laser operations, and wet chemistry.
•Ability to lead and manage development engineering technicians, including coaching, training, and setting objectives.
•Experience using structural problem-solving methods (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone, 7-Steps, DMAIC) and applying statistical data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
•Knowledge of EHS/Safety and quality systems (ISO14001/ISO9001/ISO4500/OSHA), plus familiarity with asset management/maintenance applications (Maximo/CMMS, SAP, or Oracle preferred).
