Job Summary

Assist in developing and presenting lighting concepts across multiple sectors (Commercial, Urban Realm, Transportation, Infrastructure, Healthcare, and Education). Produce lighting designs, sketches, calculations, drawings, specifications, and support reports, proposals, and control schematics. Collaborate with senior designers and multidisciplinary teams, engage with clients, and help create design documentation for planning, tenders, construction packages, and as-builts. Use tools like DIALux Evo, Revit, and AutoCAD while staying current with standards, legislation, and CPD.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and present lighting concepts, narratives, and design strategies across project stages.
•Create lighting designs, calculations, graphical drawings, specifications, and assist with reports, proposals, and lighting control schematics.
•Support client-facing discussions and gather client requirements with clear professional communication.
•Produce detailed design drawings, luminaire detailing, and integrate lighting within architecture and landscape.
•Support project delivery from concept through design development, including contributing to planning applications, tender submissions, construction packages, and as-built documentation.

Key Requirements

•Experience with lighting, internships, placements, or academic exposure in lighting design, architecture, engineering, or a related consultancy environment.
•A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Architecture, Lighting Design, Interior Design, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field.
•Understanding of lighting design principles and interest in gaining experience across different project types and delivery methods.
•Interest in developing creative lighting concepts that enhance wellbeing and communicate through clear visual and written storytelling.
•Experience using lighting modelling and calculation software (DIALux Evo) and familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD (with willingness to develop skills).
