Job Summary

Provide inspection, testing, and documentation for plant facilities, including sampling and testing aggregates and asphalt materials to ensure quality control and contract/spec compliance. Monitor daily process functions and materials, evaluate volumetric data for mix production adjustments, and maintain accurate test-result records. Build relationships with customers, facility managers, DOT personnel, and suppliers, while maintaining laboratory equipment and following safety policies and DOT/OSAH/MSHA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Use accepted methods to inspect, sample, and test aggregates, asphalt, or other materials for quality control.
•Sample and test mixtures to remain within contract specifications and quality control tolerances.
•Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure products meet agency or customer requirements.
•Prepare and record accurate information and maintain a test-results database.
•Maintain laboratory equipment, obtain required certifications, and follow quality control plans, safety policies, and OSAH/MSHA regulations.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED required.
•Obtain and maintain DOT certifications required to test asphalt per state regulations.
•Must be 18 years of age or older.
•Understand DOT regulations (sampling frequency/methods and quality requirements) for asphalt testing.
•Able to use basic computer skills, including email and simple spreadsheets, and perform simple mathematical calculations.
