Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on longwall equipment.
  • •Inspect, maintain and repair shearers, AFCs, BSLs and powered roof supports.
  • •Maintain and fault-find hydraulic and mechanical systems, diagnosing equipment faults and completing practical repairs.
  • •Support longwall production and equipment availability by completing equipment inspections and identifying emerging defects.
  • •Follow isolation, stored-energy and underground risk-control requirements and complete work orders and maintenance records accurately while working with operators and other trades.

Key Requirements

  • •Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification.
  • •Experience working in an underground coal mine.
  • •Previous longwall mechanical maintenance experience.
  • •Experience with shearers, AFCs, BSLs, roof supports and hydraulic systems.
  • •Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, including planned and breakdown maintenance, isolation and stored-energy controls, plus safety and hazard-identification awareness.
