Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement large-scale distributed systems that power AI features for millions of daily users.
  • •Own architecture decisions for flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and robustness across the AI Products estate.
  • •Manage technical debt over time while improving system reliability and maintainability.
  • •Mentor junior engineers and champion engineering excellence across the AI Products team.
  • •Partner with Applied Scientists to transition ML/LLM work from research into safe, reliable production systems.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years building and operating production services with Python (or equivalent) at scale, with strong system design and coding skills.
  • •Own production services or pipelines, including operational/on-call responsibility, incident response, and long-term technical debt management.
  • •Deep understanding of distributed processing principles such as Spark or Dask, with strong SQL capabilities.
  • •Experience integrating ML models or LLM-based features into production systems and collaborating with Applied Scientists to productionize work.
  • •Familiarity with ML tooling (MLFlow, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect) is valued.
  • •Nice to have: experience applying or fine-tuning LLMs in a product context.
