Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage assets by processing deliveries, replenishing consumables, coordinating shipping/receiving, and maintaining tools/test sets and network equipment.
  • •Troubleshoot network equipment by removing/replacing defective modules and working to isolate and restore service.
  • •Monitor/locate underground outside plant facilities and support restoration efforts during service interruptions.
  • •Assist in installing, provisioning, testing, and maintaining DS0 thru OC192 services and Next Generation technologies (e.g., Edge Compute, Wavelength, fiber optic transport, Ethernet, SONET, IP).
  • •Perform preventive/scheduled maintenance and inspections on network and critical infrastructure (including HVAC and high-voltage/DC power plants) and maintain installation records and trouble-ticket logs.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or GED or up to 2 years of relevant job experience, including 1+ years of network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
  • •Entry-level technician experience/knowledge in at least one discipline: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP, or Outside Plant (fiber locating/OTDR/Mass Fusion Splicing).
  • •Knowledge of locating fiber optic cable, right-of-way, and As-Builts.
  • •PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, plus the ability to quickly learn corporate databases.
  • •Must be able to work an on-call 24x7 rotational schedule and have a valid driver’s license.
