Key Responsibilities

  • •Cover breaks, absenteeism, and vacation and perform all jobs and operate all machines in the department while following Tyson policies.
  • •Operate machinery by understanding product specifications, documenting machine settings/weights/data on paper and electronically, and maintaining accurate records in a computer-based system.
  • •Assist with successful machinery startup; ensure sensors and line conveyors are clean and clear of jams.
  • •Facilitate and monitor loading operations, including shutdown and cleanup, to ensure proper processing and packaging within Tyson specifications.
  • •Monitor sealing/stacking and automated palletizer operations to detect misalignments or malfunctions and notify leads/supervisors as needed, including manual loading and pallet completion/changeover.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 6 months of relevant operator experience.
  • •Ability to perform basic math (adding, subtracting, simple multiplication).
  • •Must be able to operate machines using touch-screen interfaces, interpret sequential information, input/reset data, and use computer display controls and handheld computers/scanners.
  • •Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions (work orders, safety materials, operating/maintenance instructions, procedural manuals).
  • •Willing and able to perform physical requirements, including repetitive lifting of up to 40 lb boxes every 30–60 seconds and moving pallets up to 95 lb.
