Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide legal support for data privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity programs, including developing and maintaining procedures, training, and guidance.
  • •Monitor and assess the effectiveness of data protection policies and procedures, including assisting with data subject access requests and security incidents and recommending amendments.
  • •Advise business partners on data protection and privacy laws, compliance, and best practices for information technology and information security.
  • •Support regulatory change management in financial services by providing updates and guidance on the impact of new and changing laws.
  • •Review, prepare, adapt, and negotiate vendor contract clauses and processes related to data protection for client relationships, third-party vendors, and sub-processors; mitigate risks and confirm compliance with Company policies and legal regulations.

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership to practice in at least one U.S. state.
  • •7+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney in big law, governmental agencies, and/or in-house legal/compliance roles.
  • •Extensive experience analyzing, interpreting, and applying state and federal regulations to vendor contracts and privacy programs.
  • •Working knowledge of privacy regulations for financial institutions; GDPR and CCPA experience is preferred.
  • •Experience drafting complex technology and BaaS agreements.
