Maintain and repair mechanical and gas systems for a secure establishment, ensuring they operate safely, compliantly, and reliably. Carry out planned preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and defect rectification across site plant and equipment, and install new mechanical systems in line with standards. Keep maintenance schedules and compliance records up to date, support a multi-skilled facilities team (including contractor escorting), and follow all statutory and site safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Carry out routine mechanical engineering work, planned preventative maintenance, repairs, and testing of gas systems.
•Diagnose faults and complete defect rectification on plant and equipment across the site.
•Install new mechanical plant and equipment in line with specifications and standards.
•Ensure maintenance schedules and compliance records are kept up to date.
•Support a multi-skilled facilities management team, including escorting contractors when required.

Salary: GBP 38,814 annually

Key Requirements

•A recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent trade-based qualification (such as C and G or NVQ).
•Gas Safe registration with experience in both commercial and domestic systems desirable.
•Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet tight timescales.
•Strong communication skills and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.
•Qualified as an Authorised Person (AP) or willing to undertake training and assessment to become an AP desirable.
