Job Summary

As a yard worker, you’ll assemble customer orders by gathering the correct products, wrap completed pallets, and stage them for pickup. You’ll safely operate a forklift to move pallets to staging areas and load vehicles, while providing friendly customer service to check orders. The role also includes basic forklift maintenance tasks like recharging batteries, lubricating, fueling, and cleaning, plus maintaining a clean, orderly work area.

Key Responsibilities

•Receive customer order slips, gather correct products by hand or with a forklift, and assemble orders for pickup.
•Safely utilize a forklift to move completed pallets to staging areas or load pallets onto customer vehicles.
•Work directly with customers in a friendly, professional manner to check orders.
•Perform basic routine forklift maintenance, including recharging batteries, lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
•Maintain clean and orderly housekeeping in the assigned work area.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of related trades experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Ability to pass an internal certification program.
•Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
•Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees.
•Previous experience operating a forklift or other heavy equipment such as a front-end loader or bulldozer.
