Job Summary

Support fire protection engineering design and delivery from concept through construction and commissioning, across sectors including defence, aviation, data centres, education, and health. Assist with systems such as fire hydrant and hose reel systems, automatic fire sprinklers, alternative and gas suppression, fire detection, and evacuation systems. Key Responsibilities

•Support various phases of fire protection project design and delivery, from concept to construction and commissioning.
•Assist in designing fire hydrant and hose reel systems, automatic fire sprinkler systems, alternative fire suppression systems, gas suppression, fire detection, and evacuation systems.
•Collaborate with engineers from different disciplines on large multi-disciplinary projects to develop integrated fire protection solutions.
•Help ensure fire protection designs comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, local authority regulations, and client-specific standards.
•Build knowledge of wet and dry fire protection systems through hands-on involvement and mentorship from senior engineers.

Key Requirements

•Curious and motivated to apply engineering studies in a professional environment, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
•Be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in an Engineering discipline, with interest in building and fire safety engineering.
•Able to work full-time hours from mid-November 2026 to mid-February 2027.
•Candidates must hold Australian citizenship and be eligible to obtain the required Defence Security Clearance for this role.
