Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform visual structural condition assessments across remote mining environments and critical water infrastructure, including deficiency verification and severity classification.
  • •Create inspection reports with annotated redlines and photos, and immediately escalate imminent risk conditions to clients and internal project managers.
  • •Develop structural response actions, repair plans, engineering assessments, and construction specifications for remediation and brownfield integration.
  • •Lead structural engineering tasks across project phases (scoping/feasibility through detailed design, procurement, and commissioning) and provide site support.
  • •Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior engineers/EITs, while ensuring compliance with EGBC and applicable provincial regulatory and safety requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (or equivalent).
  • •6+ years of structural engineering experience focused on asset management, structural condition assessments, and brownfield remediation.
  • •Ability and willingness to perform hands-on field inspections in challenging environments, including remote underground mines and active water treatment facilities.
  • •Expert knowledge of Canadian structural design codes (CSA S16 for structural steel and CSA A23.3 for concrete).
  • •Access to a vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driver’s record for the position.
