Key Responsibilities

  • •Own performance tuning on the StarRocks serving layer by using AI-assisted query profiling to prevent slow queries from becoming incidents.
  • •Build and harden data pipelines feeding government cloud investigations, using AI code review workflows to ship reliable changes in a high-compliance environment.
  • •Reduce single-point-of-failure risk by independently operating and troubleshooting the serving layer and supporting faster incident response.
  • •Use AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to triage production issues in a regulated environment and drive rapid root-cause fixes.
  • •Collaborate with the Data Platform Serving team to review incidents, update pipeline health, and adjust runbooks after production incidents.

Key Requirements

  • •U.S. citizenship required due to government cloud data access requirements.
  • •Hands-on experience operating distributed OLAP/serving-layer systems (StarRocks, Trino, ClickHouse, or similar), including query tuning at scale.
  • •Experience owning data pipeline reliability and incident response in production environments.
  • •Comfort using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate debugging, code review, and documentation.
  • •Independent ownership mindset, including ramping on unfamiliar production infrastructure and taking on-call responsibility with minimal oversight.
