Key Responsibilities

  • •System Administration - responsible for the day-to-day administration of all Linux based servers, including monitoring the trouble ticket queue, system fixes, hardware and software changes, scripting, patching, system performance monitoring, sizing, integration, upgrades, and diagnostics.
  • •Application support - work with application administrators to fix and fine-tune applications and guide them in standard processes related to using the underlying UNIX infrastructure.
  • •Documentation - maintain all system documentation.
  • •Security & compliance - implement and improve OS hardening, access controls, patch management, and industry best practices.
  • •Collaboration & communication - effectively communicate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues and ensure reliable production services.

Key Requirements

  • •Unix/Linux System Administration: In-depth experience with Unix/Linux servers (especially RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) for installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • •Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) and automation tools (Ansible, etc.) to streamline deployments and manage configurations.
  • •Demonstrable ability to perform UNIX builds such as RHEL.
  • •Networking Knowledge: Solid grasp of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, etc.) and system connectivity for effective operation in distributed environments.
  • •Working knowledge of Virtual machine management (VmWare, OpenShift) and related networking, remote administration, cloning, migration, etc.
  • •Security Best Practices: Expertise in system security – user access controls, OS hardening, patch management, and compliance.
  • •Soft Skills: Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to collaborate across teams and resolve complex issues efficiently.
  • •Operational experience with Ansible and Terraform are beneficial.
