Key Responsibilities

  • •Transport trailers across the yard and dock/undock trailers as needed for Receiving dock operations.
  • •Retrieve inbound full trailers and deliver them to the Receiving dock; remove and stage full trailers for outbound routes.
  • •Ensure the truck yard stays free of debris and trash, and maintain cleanliness of yard trucks daily.
  • •Complete pre-trip inspections on yard trucks and report any defects to your supervisor immediately for repair.
  • •Complete required logs and prioritize safety while operating a yard truck, using two-way radio communication with all levels of management.

Key Requirements

  • •At least six months of relative non-CDL Driver experience with a single employer within the last 12 months.
  • •Clear Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and ability to pass the MVR Records check (no DUI/DWIs in the last 12 months).
  • •Valid state-issued driver’s license and at least 18 years of age.
  • •Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including climbing stairs/ladders up to 60 feet and working in extreme weather conditions.
  • •Willingness to effectively communicate with supervisors and team members via 2-way radio and pass the Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Assessment.
