Job Summary

Lead and grow a team of Data Scientists to deliver high-impact fraud solutions for Mercado Libre. Partner with Analytics, Backend, and other Fraud vertical teams to ensure strategic alignment and measurable business outcomes. Drive adoption of advanced AI/ML approaches, including foundational models and scalable production architectures, while promoting rigorous experimentation, impact measurement, and a strong MELI culture.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and strengthen a team of Data Scientists, promoting technical excellence, continuous improvement, and best practices in ML/AI.
•Collaborate with Analytics, Backend, and other Fraud vertical teams to align strategy and deliver measurable business impact.
•Promote the MELI culture by maintaining high standards of quality, goal achievement, and a positive work environment.
•Drive the adoption of frontier technologies including AI, foundational models, ML models, and scalable production architectures.
•Foster a culture of rigorous experimentation, impact measurement, and results orientation.

Key Requirements

•Have led Data Science or Machine Learning teams in high-velocity, high-complexity environments.
•Demonstrate strong technical knowledge in predictive modeling, anomaly detection, and production-ready Machine Learning solutions.
•Translate between business stakeholders and the technical team effectively.
•Have knowledge of neural networks and advanced modeling approaches.
•Drive continuous improvement and adoption of best practices in Machine Learning and AI.
