Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee engineering, procurement, and supplier activities for a major capital project from design through construction and commissioning.
  • •Act as a key liaison between contractors, suppliers, project teams, and internal stakeholders to align on scope, schedule, quality, and objectives.
  • •Participate in design reviews and project development activities including technical studies, constructability assessments, HAZOPs, and HAZIDs.
  • •Monitor contractor and supplier performance, identify risks, resolve technical issues, and remove barriers impacting delivery.
  • •Coordinate technical responses during construction, commissioning, and start-up, and drive interface management across engineering disciplines and operational stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Alberta.
  • •8-12 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including involvement in large capital projects in power generation, oil & gas, energy, or petrochemical industries.
  • •Minimum 8 years in field or discipline engineering with a desire to step into a Project Engineer role.
  • •Demonstrated experience representing an owner’s team on large, complex projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • •Strong understanding of project execution, engineering management, contractor oversight, procurement, and construction support activities.
