Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify and implement AWS cost optimization opportunities across compute, storage, networking, databases, containers, and serverless services.
  • •Drive rightsizing and cost optimisation initiatives (e.g., Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, storage lifecycle, and data transfer optimisation) and partner with engineering teams to track realised savings.
  • •Build FinOps automation, tooling, dashboards, and self-service capabilities; automate tagging compliance, utilisation analysis, and anomaly investigation.
  • •Review AWS workloads and recommend improvements balancing cost, performance, resilience, and security; support budgeting, forecasting, and cost modelling.
  • •Improve tagging quality, cost allocation accuracy, and cloud financial transparency; support showback/chargeback reporting and investigate cost anomalies.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • •Strong experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or similar roles.
  • •Hands-on AWS experience with proven cloud cost optimisation expertise, including Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, rightsizing, and optimisation initiatives.
  • •Experience with FinOps, cloud financial management, governance, and cost allocation practices.
  • •Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, TypeScript) and experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or OpenTofu.
