Key Responsibilities

  • •Receive, unload, and sort hogs by quality and weight; move animals from trucks to holding pens safely.
  • •Identify livestock (tattoos), scale, and accurately count animals, tracking any dead or non-ambulatory animals.
  • •Monitor yard and truck conditions to ensure proper handling and compliance; perform animal welfare audits.
  • •Complete required PQA/TQA and other animal handling and safety training.
  • •Support the Hog Barn Supervisor by leading the Hog Receiver team, delegating tasks, resolving conflicts, and documenting kill/harvest schedules.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of verifiable livestock handling experience.
  • •Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree considered in lieu of experience.
  • •Producer Quality Assurance (PQA) and Truckers Quality Assurance (TQA) preferred.
  • •USDA Bonded preferred.
  • •Bobcat Safety Training Certificate preferred, plus ability to read and interpret safety and procedure manuals.
