Job Summary

Estimate and/or bid heavy civil and asphalt paving projects, partnering with owners and stakeholders to support accurate bids and maintain a healthy project backlog. Lead and present planning information, review contract designs and specifications, and apply safety policies during the bidding process. Read and interpret plans, conceptualize projects, present value-added engineering, and build preliminary project schedules while maintaining reports and project mapping.

•Estimate and/or bid suitable construction and asphalt paving projects.
•Lead and present information in planning meetings.
•Develop relationships with suppliers, customers, owners, owner representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
•Maintain accurate reports and project mapping while understanding contract designs and specifications.
•Review and apply safety policies in the bidding process and build a preliminary project schedule.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in the Heavy Civil Construction industry.
•Preference for 5-7 years estimating DOT, municipal roadway, site development, earthwork, drainage, and infrastructure projects.
•Experience with public bid lettings, quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, subcontractor procurement, and estimating software.
•BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
•Knowledge of DOT designs, regulations, and specifications, including plan reading and interpretation.
