Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform duties of a Level 2 Refueling Services Technician, including Vistra spent fuel handling in PWR and BWR spent fuel pools.
  • •Perform underwater in-vessel technician tasks such as jet pump plug installation, underwater vacuuming, and thimble plugs.
  • •Support head area maintenance activities including seal table maintenance and related equipment removal/installation and bolted joint work.
  • •Provide mentorship and guidance to Level 1 Technicians and participate in post-outage critiques to improve safety and performance.
  • •Support planning and coordination for outage, dry cask storage, and reactor/fuel movements; assist with maintenance of fuel handling equipment and tooling and identify equipment issues for tracking.
Travel: High travel

Key Requirements

  • •Capable of qualifying as a Spent Fuel Operator at Comanche Peak, Davis Besse, and Beaver Valley and as a Spent Fuel Handler at Perry, plus Head Area Maintenance Technician capability on all Vistra reactor types.
  • •Qualified Vistra Level 1 Refueling Services Technician, or meet experience alternatives including minimum 4 years of Refueling Services experience with spent fuel movement at least two reactor types.
  • •Completed trade school in boiler maker, iron worker, pipe fitter (or similar) with 4 years of work experience, or military veteran with technical/mechanical skills and 4 years of experience.
  • •Capable of passing a respirator physical and working in radiological protective clothing while wearing a PAPR for extended periods.
  • •Knowledge of refueling tooling and advanced knowledge of hand tools; must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
