Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide adequate, functional and sterilized instrument sets and packs to the operating theatre and other nursing units.
  • •Ensure sterile and functional equipment is available on time to support patient safety.
  • •Maintain and ensure optimal care of capital equipment to minimize clinical and financial risks.
  • •Use pharmaceutical stock cost-effectively to meet daily requirements of the operating theatre and other nursing units.
  • •Adhere to Infection Prevention and Control standards and standardized workflow processes to minimize risks.

Key Requirements

  • •Provide safe, sterilized instrument sets and packs to support theatre and nursing units.
  • •Ensure Infection Prevention and Control standards are met according to policies and procedures.
  • •Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) and ability to follow stock control processes.
  • •Knowledge of CSSD basic functions, including personal and environmental hygiene requirements.
  • •Desirable: 2 years’ experience as a CSSD Technician and completion of a CSSD CPD course.
