Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, integrate, and fine-tune signal timing changes and guide their implementation.
  • •Supervise and direct operational modifications; conduct field reviews to evaluate and resolve signal operation issues.
  • •Ensure signal timing modifications are properly signed/sealed and documented per client policies and guidelines.
  • •Monitor signal systems and arterial ITS infrastructure, analyze traffic data, and recommend/perform actions to improve traffic operations.
  • •Assist with retiming efforts and CV/AV technology implementation; prepare performance reports and severe event/incident response reports.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or closely related discipline).
  • •7+ years of post-education engineering experience with prior traffic design experience.
  • •Professional Engineering license in the state of Florida.
  • •2+ years of experience with traffic signal operation, signal retiming, and Traffic Signal Central Systems.
  • •Knowledge of traffic signal systems, signal analysis tools (e.g., SYNCHRO, HCS), and DOT advisory circulars/procedures.
