Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide project technical support and deliver OHL design for transmission projects for the Transmission & Distribution team.
  • •Support technical delivery on complex multi-discipline projects and contribute to large programmes of work such as Great Grid Upgrade.
  • •Create and check engineering deliverables including complex designs, reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages; perform internal quality checks.
  • •Produce detailed OHL design work including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, loading trees, design criteria, swing angle, damper recommendations, structural spotting, and clearance reports.
  • •Support feasibility studies and studies to identify preferred solutions/layouts, including conductor thermal ratings and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline, ideally electrical engineering or power engineering.
  • •Professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g., IET).
  • •Experience delivering UK transmission system operator projects (e.g., National Grid, SSE, SPT) in line with operator standards.
  • •Project experience in overhead line engineering, ideally up to 400kV.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
