Key Responsibilities

  • •Design telecommunications systems for remote operation of transmission installations (OPGW on lines, underground fiber in substations, microwave radio links, ADSS, and voice/data networks between substations).
  • •Prepare technical specifications for communications equipment (SDH/OTN multiplexers, routers, switches, microwave equipment, optical amplifiers).
  • •Design voice/data networks and substation automation between substations.
  • •Develop underground fiber layouts within substations and interconnection with OPGW.
  • •Coordinate with Control to ensure end-to-end integration of communications with SCADA/telecontrol and evaluate supplier proposals.

Key Requirements

  • •More than 15 years of professional experience in telecommunications design for transmission networks (OPGW, fiber, SDH/OTN) with at least 10 years in telecom systems design for high voltage transmission.
  • •Experience in OPGW systems: design, specification and integration with transmission lines.
  • •Knowledge of SDH/OTN networks, microwave radio links and fiber optic networks.
  • •Experience in design of telecontrol networks for transmission substations.
  • •Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics or Electrical Engineering with professional registration (excluyente).
