Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise and lead assigned shift engineering and shift maintenance technicians to repair and maintain module equipment, meeting safety, quality, yield, and throughput goals.
  • •Ensure shift uptime and process control in the module area, including adherence to safety procedures and 5S housekeeping standards.
  • •Serve as first-level escalation for module tools, supervise troubleshooting/repair, and ensure return-to-production (RTP) buy-off prior to production runs.
  • •Plan and supervise daily work scheduling for engineering and maintenance technicians; ensure process readiness and execution of process records with production objectives.
  • •Respond to SPC alarms, drive corrective actions using structural problem-solving methods, and communicate systems and policies to direct reports while supporting staffing and employee relations issues.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 80,700 - 115,000

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED plus 3 years supervisory experience with 2 years technical work in manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering; or a high school diploma/GED plus 5 years technical experience at First Solar.
  • •Associates or bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical, or electrical field with no experience.
  • •Electrical and mechanical knowledge; familiarity with vacuum and thermal systems, wet chemistry, and programming/logic and mechanical operation desired.
  • •Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes, engineering controls, and equipment; use structural problem-solving tools (5-Why, Fishbone, 7-Steps).
  • •Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and ability to analyze engineering/statistical data to drive corrective and improvement actions; JMP experience a plus.
