Job Summary

Build and operate DigitalOcean’s control plane billing platform for a service suite powering invoicing, collections, taxation inquiries, and revenue assurance. You’ll triage escalated customer/internal issues, develop automation and synthetic testing, and own operational processes for credits, discounts, refunds, and month-close compliance reporting. Collaborate across engineering, product, finance, sales, and support to improve resiliency, stability, and documentation for a fast-growing business.

Key Responsibilities

•Triage and resolve escalated billing support tickets (invoicing discrepancies, collections issues, and taxation inquiries), and serve as second-line support for customer bug reports.
•Develop automation tooling to reduce operational cost and improve time-to-resolution for first-level support requests.
•Own core billing platform operations including credits, discounts, promotions, commitment deals, SaaS Marketplace vendor ledgers, refunds/write-offs, and month-close compliance reporting.
•Design and maintain automation tooling to improve internal billing and customer management operational efficiency, including revenue assurance tooling and synthetic testing to detect revenue leaks.
•Collaborate with architecture and cloud operations to improve platform stability, support operational aspects of product launches, and update documentation/processes for the platform and control plane.

Key Requirements

•Proficiency in Go; Ruby experience is a plus.
•Hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices, and complex multi-service deployments.
•Experience with technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, gRPC, Kafka, MySQL, and Redis.
•Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python and Shell scripting).
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
