Job Summary

Shape the next generation of an online, competency-based student experience by designing intuitive, data-informed UX for WGU’s Next Generation Learning Experience (NGLX) student portal. Lead multi-phase initiatives across desktop and mobile (native Android and iOS), partner with product, engineering, research, and stakeholders, and translate complex journey insights into holistic flows, wireframes, prototypes, and measurable improvements.

•Lead UX design for high-impact, multi-phase initiatives for the NGLX student portal.
•Translate student journey insights into short- and long-term UX solutions across complex problems.
•Collaborate with product, engineering, UX research, and stakeholders to define problems, run workshops, explore concepts, and align on user-centered solutions.
•Create and evolve holistic design artifacts for product lines, including flows, wireframes, prototypes, and annotations to enable implementation.
•Evaluate experiences using qualitative/quantitative data and performance metrics, and proactively manage risks, dependencies, and expectations across teams.

Key Requirements

•6+ years of experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, information architect, UX researcher, or related role.
•Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.

•Expertise producing core UX deliverables such as user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications.
•Strong ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to guide decisions and identify experimentation opportunities.
