Job Summary

Manage all aspects of the converting (pouching) department, leading safety, quality, productivity, cost, and culture for a large plant. Oversee safety programs with EHS, enforce standards (5S, GMP), run the department Performance Control System with KPIs, and drive continuous improvement with plant leadership. Lead and develop direct reports (shift supervisors), manage hiring and performance, ensure investigations and corrective actions, and support capital projects and budget execution.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead safety as a safety leader and work with the EHS Manager to maintain safe working environment policies and programs.
•Establish, maintain, communicate, and enforce safety, quality, waste, and productivity standards; ensure housekeeping per 5S and GMP.
•Oversee the department Performance Control System (PCS): set KPIs, audit supervisor/operator shift meetings, run department meetings, and maintain action item registers.
•Supervise shift supervisors and salaried staff, including hiring, terminations, recognition, discipline, training, employee relations, performance management, and salary administration.
•Drive continuous improvement opportunities, ensure investigations and corrective actions for injuries/incidents/near misses and customer complaints, and support capital project recommendations.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
•5+ years of supervisory/leadership experience.
•Experience overseeing safety, quality, productivity, and cost within established procedures and standards.
•Ability to manage performance systems (KPIs/PCS), continuous improvement execution, and employee performance management.
