Job Summary

Lead safe and efficient receiving, production, and distribution operations at the Johannesburg distribution centre. Coordinate production and distribution plans to meet SLA targets, OEE and OTIF performance, manage downtime and planned maintenance, and drive quality by ensuring ISO 9001 compliance and investigating non-conformances with ELS tools. Provide people leadership to operations teams, manage inventory via cycle counts, and oversee dispatch, fleet maintenance, housekeeping, and 5S implementation.

Key Responsibilities

•Take responsibility for overall coordination and management of safe and efficient receiving, production, and distribution of products to customers.
•Provide people leadership to slitting operators, material handlers, operations clerks, and assistant operators; develop talent and manage supervisors’ performance.
•Plan weekly production and distribution requirements to achieve DC operation targets, adhere to SLAs, and improve OEE/capacity using ELS tools.
•Ensure production meets quality standards including ISO 9001 compliance; investigate non-conformances and communicate quality issues with the workforce.
•Manage inventory through cycle counts and audits, oversee distribution and dispatch administration, and ensure fleet maintenance and cost reduction for dispatch.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing or logistics environment.
•3–5 years supervisory/managerial experience managing a distribution centre.
•Recognised qualification in Production Supervision and Management, Logistics, or Operations Management.
•Grade 12 with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent operations qualification.
•Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical problem-solving, negotiation/influencing, and planning/organizing skills.
