Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver engaging, age-appropriate basketball coaching sessions for children and young people
  • •Plan and deliver progressive coaching programmes to build movement skills and basketball techniques
  • •Create a fun, inclusive and supportive environment that encourages participation, growth, and personal development
  • •Promote teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, and positive behaviours during all sessions
  • •Ensure safety and wellbeing through effective supervision and safeguarding and health & safety procedures

Key Requirements

  • •Experience coaching or leading physical activity sessions for children and young people
  • •A basketball coaching qualification from a recognised governing body (or working towards)
  • •Strong communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and engage participants of different ages and abilities
  • •Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and player development principles
  • •Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety practices in a sports environment
