Collaborate with Electrical, Software, and Industrialisation teams to integrate sensors and payloads, run rigorous stress/failure testing, and support manufacturing with suppliers—while maintaining complete documentation in Confluence with high-quality 2D/3D deliverables.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Design and prototype UAV platforms and complex subsystems from scratch, balancing durability, efficiency, and performance.
•Own system-level constraints including thermal management, mass budget, COGS, and environmental sealing (IP ratings).
•Partner with R&D teams (Electrical, Software, Industrialisation) for mechanical integration of sensors, payloads, and electronics.
•Conduct stress and failure testing, proactively identify risks, and build tools to validate designs for extreme environments.
•Oversee manufacturing with suppliers and external manufacturers, focusing on plastic injection moulding and precision machining, and maintain “source of truth” documentation in Confluence.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
•Proven experience designing and prototyping mechanical systems, ideally within UAVs, robotics, or defense applications.
•Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and strong advantage in structural and thermal analysis (FEA).
•Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including high-precision machining and plastic injection moulding.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document complex technical concepts and lead cross-functional discussions.
