Job Summary

Lead PayPal’s Legal strategy for Consumer Financial Services, Credit, and Venmo, partnering with senior business leaders and regulatory stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

•Lead a high-performing team of experienced product and regulatory lawyers supporting Consumer Financial Services, Credit, and Venmo product organizations.
•Serve as the primary legal advisor and strategic partner to the heads of CFS, Credit, and Venmo on business strategy, product development, and regulatory matters.
•Develop legal support models, guidelines, and templates that enable business partners to move quickly and confidently; manage outside counsel relationships and legal budget.
•Provide business-focused legal advice on product design and strategy, including supporting the development and launch of consumer financial services and credit products such as BNPL and installment lending.
•Advise on compliance across applicable federal and state financial laws and engage with regulators (e.g., CFPB, FTC, CA DFPI, NY DFS) while monitoring emerging legal and regulatory developments.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 250,000 - 360,000 annually

Key Requirements

•J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and admitted to, in good standing with, a state bar.
•15+ years of relevant legal experience, including substantial time in a senior executive or leadership role.
•Deep expertise in Consumer Financial Services (CFS), consumer/business credit and lending, and Venmo (or a comparable high-scale consumer payments platform).
•Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state financial services laws and regulations, including EFTA/Reg. E, TILA/Reg. Z, FCRA, GLBA, UDAAP, FDCPA, ECOA/Reg. B, SCRA, and state money transmitter regulations.
•Proven track record advising on legal and regulatory matters for product development and launch in FinTech, banking, or financial services.
