Key Responsibilities

  • •Technical leadership of bridge and civil engineering design and assessment projects in the UK and overseas.
  • •Conduct project reviews to optimise solutions and coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs.
  • •Manage resources and develop relationships with other teams to deliver on time and within budget.
  • •Assist in agreeing fees and managing the commercial position on projects.
  • •Promote a culture of technical review and challenge and mentor junior team members.

Key Requirements

  • •Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer (or equivalent) with practical knowledge of bridge design, maintenance and assessment gained from on-site and design office experience.
  • •Experience in project management of bridge projects and a track record of innovation in design and management of structures.
  • •Proven knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) in relation to structural schemes.
  • •Understanding and application of Eurocodes to bridge design and experience with steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridge structures.
  • •Experience with grillage, space frame and finite element analysis software such as LUSAS, Superstress and SAM; strong communication and client-facing skills.
