Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and manage the global Natural Resources underwriting team, including direct reports and matrix management.
  • •Develop and execute global underwriting strategy to drive profitable growth and a leading market position, with ESG and energy transition embedded into underwriting.
  • •Steer and control the global portfolio to achieve financial targets and monitor underwriting planning adherence and loss development patterns.
  • •Establish and monitor underwriting governance, rules, principles, guidelines, and underwriting authorities worldwide.
  • •Support new product development and pricing tool implementation and proactively acquire and retain business through client and broker negotiations where necessary.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep knowledge of Natural Resources insurance products across global markets, including a strong grasp of the legal and regulatory framework.
  • •Expert understanding of global insurance markets and competitors, plus a well-established broker relationship network at peer level.
  • •Significant experience leading and developing direct teams internationally in complex global matrix environments.
  • •Robust understanding of the policy administration life cycle, including information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, and cancellation.
  • •Ability to analyze highly complex data from multiple sources and resolve issues proactively; includes leadership of a team of underwriters.
