Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and maintain Ebury’s global sanctions and export controls framework, policies, and risk appetite statements across jurisdictions.
  • •Establish export control protocols for trade finance and cross-border payments, including screening and advisory for dual-use goods and restricted trade corridors.
  • •Lead, mentor, and develop regional sanctions managers and advisory officers, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous learning.
  • •Serve as primary escalation and board/executive contact for sanctions and export control risks, including complex multi-jurisdiction cases.
  • •Partner with Financial Crime Tech and Product teams to oversee global screening platform strategy and calibrate screening logic to reduce false positives.

  • •10+ years’ subject matter expertise in financial crime, with proven leadership of sanctions and export controls globally.
  • •Master-level understanding of global sanctions regimes (OFAC, OFSI, EU, UN) and international export control frameworks, including extraterritoriality and conflicts of law.
  • •Experience leading and scaling diverse, globally distributed compliance teams and subject matter experts.
