Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the senior privacy advisor for APAC operations, providing pragmatic, business-aligned guidance to regional teams.
  • •Adapt and extend the global privacy framework into a scalable APAC privacy baseline across jurisdictions.
  • •Operationalize privacy compliance across APAC, advising on cross-border data transfers, data localization, and localized consent flows.
  • •Conduct and review privacy impact assessments, data protection impact assessments, and records of processing activities; support privacy-by-design obligations and risks.
  • •Draft, review, and negotiate privacy terms in commercial and data-processing agreements; monitor regulatory developments and support privacy incident response and AI governance coverage.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified lawyer in a Common-wealth jurisdiction.
  • •7+ years of relevant data privacy experience, including GDPR, with strong command of APAC privacy regimes.
  • •Deep, hands-on expertise in two or more APAC privacy frameworks (e.g., PDPA, DPDPA, APPI, PIPA, PDPO, PIPL), including cross-border data transfer and localization requirements.
  • •Experience setting up or scaling a privacy program in-house (law firm experience valued).
  • •Strong drafting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills for negotiations, compliance frameworks, vendor assessments, incident management, and privacy-by-design.
