Job Summary

Own the delivery, performance, and growth of the Hedge Accounting managed services practice at Ripple Treasury, covering both FX and interest rate risk. Lead a team of Derivative Accountants and Hedge Accounting Managers to ensure operational health end to end—client satisfaction, delivery quality, staffing, KPIs, and scalable workflows. Serve as the technical escalation expert for complex hedge accounting issues under ASC 815 and IFRS 9, including auditor-facing discussions and contested positions.

Key Responsibilities

•Design the day-to-day operating model for the Hedge Accounting practice from trade capture through close, disclosure, and audit response across FX and interest rate programs.
•Lead Hedge Accounting Managers and Derivative Accountants; set KPIs, resolve escalations, and step in personally when delivery signals trouble.
•Run the practice operationally by forecasting capacity, making staffing calls, and owning hiring and workforce planning as the portfolio grows.
•Build and continuously improve workflows, templates, and close checklists to help the team scale and improve delivery quality.
•Serve as the technical and client escalation expert for complex hedge accounting issues and audit conversations, staying current on relevant FASB and IASB developments.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 196,000 - 240,000 annually

Key Requirements

•CPA required; advanced degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
•12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 8-10 years focused on derivative instruments and hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9 across FX and interest rate risk management.
•5+ years managing and developing accounting or finance teams, including managing managers.
•Proven experience running the operational side of a service practice, including staffing/capacity planning, KPI tracking, workflow design, and delivery quality management.
•Deep, current technical fluency in ASC 815 and IFRS 9, able to independently research, interpret, and defend complex and contested hedge accounting positions.
