Job Summary

Provide field-focused operational support across Autos (Pick-n-Pull) and Metals operations, strengthening discipline and standardizing production practices. Partner with executive, regional, and site leaders to analyze performance, address operational constraints, and lead structured continuous-improvement initiatives using Lean and Kaizen methods. Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials, validate adoption of standard work, and advise leaders on production flow, equipment reliability, and staffing utilization, with ~25% site travel.

Key Responsibilities

•Partner with Autos and Metals teams to identify, assess, and resolve operational challenges across workflow, production processes, equipment utilization, yard layout, and staffing.
•Lead structured improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, A3, DMAIC, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
•Conduct time studies and process mapping (including takt/cycle time and workflow assessments) to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements.
•Develop and update SOPs, technical instructions, and training materials, collaborating with H&S and Learning & Development to deliver training on standard work.
•Serve as an operational advisor to regional and site managers, partnering with Maintenance, Engineering, and Safety to improve equipment uptime and safe work practices.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related technical field (equivalent heavy-industry experience considered).
•5+ years of operations experience in heavy industry (autos salvage, recycling, metals processing, construction, mining, agriculture, or similar).
•Experience in operations environments involving mobile/heavy equipment, complex yard operations, and outdoor/weather-driven variability.
•Ability to influence and coach leaders at all levels (frontline supervisors, location managers, regional directors).
•Experience leading or supporting structured continuous improvement initiatives in an operational environment.
