Key Responsibilities

  • •Set the technical direction for the model portfolio, maturing live risk models and building new models across the payments lifecycle (e.g., payment method optimization, dispute/chargeback reduction, authorization rate improvement, payout forecasting).
  • •Establish ML foundations including experimentation workflows, model monitoring, drift detection, performance benchmarking, and incident response.
  • •Translate ambiguous payments problems into well-scoped modeling opportunities, and express model performance in business terms (loss rates, approval/auth rates, dispute rates, review efficiency).
  • •Raise the technical bar through influence and example, including mentoring ML engineers and setting practices for the team.
  • •Partner with product, engineering, and risk operations to own and prioritize the ML roadmap.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of ML engineering experience, including 4+ years building and shipping production models that drive business decisions.
  • •Own modeling architecture and make hard-to-reverse decisions that you carry through to production.
  • •Broad model/problem framing: stand up new models in unfamiliar domains, not just optimize existing ones.
  • •Take models from prototype to production and own them post-launch (monitoring, retraining, incident response).
