Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and design data center heat rejection and HVAC systems, accounting for cooling requirements, cooling loads, phasing, airflow management, humidity control, redundancy, and energy efficiency.
  • •Select appropriate air/water-side cooling systems (e.g., fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water, DX, CRAC, in-row cooling, containment) based on data center requirements.
  • •Perform internal and external CFD analyses to optimize airflow distribution, identify hotspots, simulate component interactions, and recommend design modifications with other trades.
  • •Design HVAC systems with redundancy and fault-tolerant features, including backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring for continuous operation.
  • •Conduct heat load calculations and capacity planning for HVAC requirements, including admin/common areas, and implement energy-efficient strategies and air quality/filtration designs.

  • •P.E. registration is required.
