Job Summary

Lead second-line risk governance for Wise Assets within the Global Risk team. Embed Wise’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework across the Assets product ecosystem, define and maintain risk appetite, and provide independent challenge on risk assessments, control design, effectiveness, and residual risk decisions. Support responsible growth by advising on products and market expansions, drive issue management and control assurance, monitor KPIs and incidents, and deliver data-driven reporting to governance committees.

Key Responsibilities

•Implement and embed the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), policies, standards, and methodologies across the Wise Assets product ecosystem, including establishing and maintaining risk appetite for Assets.
•Partner with first line teams and regional risk colleagues to ensure risk management practices are consistently applied across product, operational, and governance processes.
•Provide independent second-line oversight and challenge on risk assessments, control design/effectiveness, and residual risk decisions for Wise Assets activities and initiatives.
•Oversee control assurance and issue management for Wise Assets, monitoring key controls, tracking remediation plans, and escalating material concerns.
•Monitor key risk indicators and incidents, produce risk reporting and insights for governance committees and senior stakeholders, and support risk training and awareness initiatives.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 140,000 - 190,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Significant experience in financial services/fintech, banking, wealth management, or investments with a strong track record in first- or second-line risk management.
•Experience implementing or operating enterprise risk management frameworks within regulated financial services.
•Strong understanding of non-financial risk management, including operational risk, regulatory risk, conduct risk, financial crime risk, and control governance.
•Proven ability to provide independent challenge and escalation while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
•Strong analytical and reporting skills to translate complex risk information into clear insights for senior management, governance committees, and regulators.
