Key Responsibilities

  • •Support Nursery Leadership in developing and implementing the UOB Nursery SEND and Inclusion Strategy, embedding inclusive values across the setting and through audits.
  • •Monitor and help coordinate the day-to-day implementation of SEND policy across sites, ensuring staff can apply procedures and strategies.
  • •Seek additional support and funding (e.g., ISEY, SSPP, EHCP, EYPP) where needed, and ensure funds are used effectively according to children’s plans.
  • •Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of children and families’ journeys, evidence support provided/required, and complete comprehensive applications and reports for external agencies.
  • •Work with parents, external professionals, and internal teams to support inclusive practice, early identification, and enhanced transitions for children who may need additional support.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified in Early Childhood Education (or relevant field) to Level 3.
  • •Robust knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation for special educational needs.
  • •Experience supporting children with special educational needs, including behaviour management, and managing caseloads for early interventions toward the EHCP process.
  • •In-depth understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework and the factors impacting children’s learning and development.
  • •Strong communication and reporting skills for parents and external agencies, including comprehensive report writing.
