Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and on schedule, obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and follow loading crew signals.
  • •Load/unload goods and materials using specialized equipment and arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.
  • •Maintain delivery paperwork (invoices, shipping bills of lading) and perform routine service checks; report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or a chauffeur’s license depending on state and vehicle weight.
  • •Pass background and required drug testing per federal/state DOT regulations, and pass a DOT physical (trucks over 10k lbs).
  • •Be at least 21 years old to operate the company vehicle.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to communicate professionally with customers and staff.
  • •Be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds, and handle prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab.
