Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the AI research strategy and roadmap, deciding what to build in-house vs adapt from frontier models.
  • •Build, lead, and hire the research team while setting technical standards and practices to ship quickly and safely.
  • •Own model quality end-to-end, including evaluation methodology, benchmarks, accuracy, explainability, latency, and reliability.
  • •Develop and maintain the evaluation stack (benchmarks, backtests, regression suites) to quantify performance on compliance workflows and prevent regressions.
  • •Train, fine-tune, and deploy LLMs and vision models for compliance use cases, maintaining MLOps for reproducibility and velocity.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years in applied AI research or ML engineering, including leading teams and owning a research agenda through to production.
  • •Hands-on experience training and fine-tuning LLMs and vision models, building and testing agentic systems, and designing evaluations that hold up in production.
  • •Experience with distillation, RL-based post-training, or inference optimization (strong plus).
  • •Ability to separate promising research from novel-but-uncertain work and sequence research bets against near-term customer impact.
  • •Clear communication skills for explaining complex AI concepts to executives, customers, and non-technical stakeholders.
