Job Summary

Drive engineering standards and best practices for HSBC’s Android and iOS mobile applications by building and maintaining a community across the Mobile Foundation and related initiatives. Lead adoption of the “HSBC way” for mobile engineering, improve CI/CD tools and build pipelines, and collaborate with product owners, agile coaches, and technical leaders to define roadmaps, requirements, and delivery quality. Mentor engineers and advocate for modern, testable, high-quality software development.

Key Responsibilities

•Establish and maintain the community of Android/iOS engineers across the Mobile Foundation and related initiatives.
•Lead and govern adoption of the “HSBC way” of engineering for Android/iOS mobile apps.
•Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD tools and build pipelines.
•Collaborate with technical leaders and product owners on engineering strategy, code standards, roadmap definition, and requirements gathering.
•Grow technical expertise through participation in mobile engineering discipline communities and by advocating modern software development practices.

Key Requirements

•BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
•Native experience and experience as a Lead or Senior Android/iOS Engineer in a large-scale mobile engineering environment.
•Strong leadership with experience mentoring Junior/Mid engineers.
•Experience fostering an engineering culture in an agile and DevOps environment.
•Track record enabling Android/iOS engineers to develop more productively with high quality.
