Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead projects from concept to rollout, including design, delivery, operations, and customer follow-up (e.g., read path efficiency and trace-to-profile correlation).
  • •Design, build, and operate core components of a distributed database: ingestion, storage, and query, balancing performance, cost, and complexity.
  • •“Wear the product hat” by joining customer calls, translating pain points into deliverables, and shaping the roadmap in the absence of a dedicated PM.
  • •Drive operational excellence by owning outcomes against SLOs and unit cost targets, reducing toil via automation, and improving on-call experience.
  • •Participate in EMEA on-call for the services you build and contribute to open-source through community engagement and review of external contributions.

Key Requirements

  • •Solid experience with a systems language; Pyroscope is written in Go, and experience with one or more languages (e.g., Rust, C, C++, Python, Java) is expected.
  • •Experience building and operating cloud services, with knowledge of running multi-tenant data systems that are fast, reliable, and affordable.
  • •Product sense: comfort talking to customers, working through ambiguity, and translating fuzzy problems into deliverables without a dedicated PM.
  • •Operational mindset, including carrying a pager and doing SRE-style work or infrastructure as code, treating reliability as a feature.
  • •Strong software craftsmanship and clear communication in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
