Job Summary

Support the Taupo Laboratory team by helping test civil engineering materials such as aggregates, soils, concrete, and bitumen. This entry-level role includes hands-on work in both laboratory and field environments to help ensure quality, safety, and performance for construction and manufacturing projects. You’ll complete training, perform basic data entry, and be flexible for occasional overtime and travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist with testing a range of civil engineering materials, including aggregates, soils, concrete, and bitumen.
•Contribute to projects across both laboratory and field environments supporting construction and manufacturing work.
•Perform basic data entry and follow digital instructions as part of lab processes.
•Support laboratory operations that help ensure quality, safety, and performance for infrastructure projects.
•Work with occasional overtime and travel when required.

Key Requirements

•Experience in labour or trades-based roles (e.g. construction, roading, warehousing, farming) is advantageous.
•Strong physical fitness and the ability to safely handle heavy materials and equipment.
•Basic computer skills and confidence following digital instructions.
•A team player with good communication skills.
•Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence, with willingness to travel and work overtime when required.
