Job Summary

Oversee Food Safety, Quality Assurance, SQF, and Regulatory programs in assigned production areas, ensuring accurate execution and documentation. Conduct sanitation inspections and micro sampling, manage HACCP/SSOP and product specifications, and maintain the SQF plan. Lead investigations of product/process failures, collaborate with plant management and USDA partners, and train and develop FSQA staff to drive continuous improvement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure Food Safety, Quality Assurance, SQF, and Regulatory programs are executed and documented accurately to maintain compliance and product integrity.
•Investigate and resolve product/process failures quickly to minimize downtime and consistently meet safety and quality standards.
•Manage HACCP, SSOP, and product specifications to prevent failures and lead continuous improvement efforts with FSQA staff and Operations.
•Conduct operational and pre-operational sanitation inspections and micro sampling; maintain and reassess the SQF plan and communicate updates to the team.
•Manage work assignments, training, and development for food safety and quality assurance staff to foster a high-performance team.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years of relevant experience in food safety or quality assurance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching, or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.
•Familiarity with meat processing, USDA, HACCP, SSOP, and SQF.
•Ability to uphold regulatory, company, and customer standards and address inquiries or complaints.
•Must complete forms in English; ability to travel up to 20% and work extended hours or weekends as needed.
